Since its inception in 2015, Amethyst Smart Brains Academy, which originally started by providing brain coaching, remedial classes for Primary School learners and extra classes for High School learners, is evolving into a premier part-time Tuition and Examination Centre and private institution for teaching, training and learning for new curriculum Grade 10 &11. Amethyst Smart Brains Academy is registered with Ministry of Education. Students attend classes and write final examinations at our school.

We also offer tuition classes for Cambridge IGSCE and AS levels since 2018.
We deliver a robust class and examination preparatory program using innovative teaching methods and interactive educational experiences to ensure that students grow and become successful in their studies.

We provide an environment that encourages each student to develop qualities of self-discipline, organization, motivation and enjoyment of working hard which enables them to become confident and competent members of our society.

The triangle represents the 3-way relationship between parents, students and teachers that we all have an equal responsibility to bring about a positive change and success in the education system of Namibia. The Sun symbolizes SELF and the life giving energy and light the Sun shines on our lives and environment. Without the Sun's heat and light, the Earth would be a lifeless ball of ice-coated rock. Without students, teachers and parents, Amethyst Smart Brains Academy would be non-existent.
The white ribbon inside the triangle represents success brought about by commitment and positive
inputs of parents, student and-teachers.

LEADERHIP

The Amethyst Smart Brains Academy leadership team is responsible for leading the daily functions of the school. This includes strategic planning, overseeing the school's finances and operation, and administrative policies and standards that help to advance the school's mission, vision and growth.

 

STAFF

Our staff is dedicated to cultivating hard working, responsible, bright thinkers and educating students across different dimensions of their growth. They serve as teachers, mentors and coaches, and embody the school’s vision of forming forward thinking, peaceful, confident and pro-active students committed to academic excellence, their work environment and service to others.

SCHOOL UNIFORM

​

Amethyst Smart Brain Academy employs a stringent, mandatory uniform dress code for our Morning School students. In our resolve to ensure a safe, secure and disciplined learning environment, we believe that the establishment of a uniform dress code is a fundamental aspect of this effort. The dress code prepares our scholars for life as professionals, as it is a way of preparing them for the more formal world of work and our uniforms are our institution’s identity. Distance and part-time (2x/week lessons) students must wear a white school shirt or white T-shirt and black jeans or black skirt when attending lessons or writing examination.
The potential benefits of a uniform dress code are:
• decreasing violence and theft — even life-threatening situations — among students over
designer clothing or expensive sneakers;
• helping prevent gang members from wearing gang colors and insignia at school;
• instilling students with discipline;

• helping parents and students resist peer pressure;
• helping students concentrate on their school work;
• and helping school officials recognize intruders who come to the school.

ATTENDANCE

​

Regular attendance by all students in the public schools or private institutions is a well-established, long-standing policy. The objective of our policy is to maximize the day-to-day attendance of our students at Amethyst Smart Brains Academy so that they may realize the greatest benefits of classroom instruction and activity. The process of education requires regular continuity of instruction through classroom participation, learning experiences, and study in order to reach the goal of maximum educational benefits for each student.

We have three (3) enrollment options for our students.

FULL-TIME & PART-TIE MORNING SCHOOL (Includes extra mural activities)

Starting and ending time: 08:00 – 14:20
Subject lessons are scheduled from Monday to Friday with up to 2 one-on-one sessions for each student. One-on-one sessions help students to sort out areas of concern or difficulty on an individual basis. Students can take 3-6 subjects to attend morning school. We offer free brain coaching, counseling, confidence building, extra mural and social club activities that boost and improve studies and school focus, improve relationships and interactions to all morning school students.

PART-TIME AFTERNOON SCHOOL

Starting and ending time: 08:00 – 14:20
Subject lessons are scheduled 2 times a week per subject. Students only come at scheduled time for their subject.

 

PART-TIME DISTANCE SCHOOL

​

Distance classes are recommended for working students or those residing outside Windhoek. Instructional lessons and resources students can access any time during the week are regularly updated and posted on our online classes’ groups. Online lessons are monitored by admin so that only up to date account members participate in our online lessons and have access to Amethyst Smart Brains Academy’s resources.

STUDENT ABSENTEEISM

​

​

Parents should notify the school before 9:00 a.m. in the morning of a student’s absence. Written verification of the absence by parents or guardians shall be presented to the reception upon the student’s return to school. If a student has been instructed to remain out of school by a physician due to a communicable or severe illness, the parent should supply a physician’s note in order to excuse the absence.
